Around Auckland - West Coast Beaches

It was a bright but chilly Sunday so we decided to hit the west coast for a bit of rugged beach action. The west is dominated by volcanic formations and black sand making the whole place seem pretty bleak and desolate. Its only 30 minutes from my house too. Its amazing how the country can change from east to west in such a small space.
